Accounting for Acceptable Use Policies
Everyone using a computer for Internet access at any school in the school district of Lowpoint-Washburn C.U.S.D. #21 must have an Acceptable Use Policy signed. Students must have the A.U.P. signed by a parent or guardian. The parent signing the A.U.P. is responsible for making sure he/she understands the A.U.P. and the student also understands the A.U.P. Staff members must also have on record in the district office a signed A.U.P.

Grades K - 6
The Acceptable Use Policy should be turned into the student's classroom teacher. The classroom teacher will keep a record of students who have and have not turned in signed Acceptable Use Policy. Only those students with a signed A.U.P. will be allowed to use a computer to access the Internet. Those student's who do not have a signed A.U.P. may have access to a computer, but will not be allowed to use the computer to access the Internet. In cases where Internet access is required for an assignment, the teacher will find an alternate method for the student to complete the assignment.

Any violations of the Acceptable Use Policy will be forwarded to Mr. Heider's attention for disciplinary action, criminal action, and/or monetary reimbursement.

Grades 7 - 8
The Acceptable Use Policy should be turned into the Business teacher, Kim Krohn. She will issue each student who turns in a signed Acceptable Use Policy an Internet Access ID that will allow them to access the Internet. The ID must be present when a Junior High School student is accessing the Internet. No Junior High School student will be allowed to access the Internet without having the Internet Access ID present, even if the students forgets to bring it or loses it. The Internet Access ID helps teachers identify which Junior High School students have been given permission by their parent(s) or guardian(s) to access the Internet. If an ID is lost, Kim Krohn will replace it for $5.00.

Only those Junior High School students with a signed A.U.P. and an Internet Access ID will be allowed to use a computer to access the Internet. Any student who does not have a signed A.U.P. or his/her Internet Access ID will not be allowed to use the computer to access the Internet. In cases where Internet access is required for an assignment, the teacher will find an alternate method for the student to complete the assignment.
