Creating a central
location for after-school programs, this
center will serve K-12 students and
community members providing activities
such as academic tutoring, cultural
enrichment, arts education, recreation,
and drug and alcohol prevention
education. The Washburn Area Community
Learning Center is open for students
until to 6:00 pm during the school year.
The five key activities
central to our center are: 1) drug and
alcohol prevention education; 2) before
and after school remedial, tutorial and
individualized education program to
promote literacy, 3) a multi-agency
delivery model to integrate education,
health, social service, recreational and
cultural programs; 4) summer and weekend
school programs in conjunction with
recreation programs; and, 5)
telecommunications and technology
education programs for individuals of all
ages.
